The Chatham County Department of Housing and Community Development is inviting qualified agencies and organizations apply for funds from the Chatham County Housing Trust Fund to develop and preserve affordable housing for persons who live and work in Chatham County. Entities considering applying in the 2024-2025 Application Cycle should use only the guidelines referenced on this webpage to inform their applications for awards. Prospective applicants are invited to indicate their interest through a brief Intent to Apply form, which will ensure that interested organizations are included on future Housing Trust Fund related emails.

$300,000 is available in Housing Trust Fund awards for the 2024-2025 cycle. These funds may be awarded as grants or loans.

Brief application timeline (see the Policies and Guidelines document for more information):

• Proposals may be submitted via this application link.
• Both applicant information sessions have passed. A recording of the first session (October 10) is available here. A recording of the second session (November 4) is available here.
• Proposals must be received by 11:59 PM on November 17, 2024.
• Applicants will be notified of funding awards in late January of 2025.

• Policies and Guidelines: This document contains Housing Trust Fund policy as approved by the Chatham County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and Board of County Commissioners, as well as more detailed information on eligibility, county development policies, key dates, and the evaluation and award process.

• Application and Instructions: This document includes all questions from the 2024-2025 application for applicant review, as well as detailed information on submission requirements and supplementary documents. This document is meant to provide a guide to the application, but all applications should be submitted according to included instructions. Complete applications must also include the following documents:

  • Required Certifications Form
  • Any applicable supplementary documents as described in the Application Overview and Requirements document.
  • New applicants should submit a completed Vendor Application and Electronic Funds Transfer Authorization form.
• Awardee Reporting Information: This document provides an overview of anticipated reporting requirements, including semiannual project information and an End of Project Comprehensive Report.

In the interest of fairness, the application review team will, to the best of their ability, avoid asking clarifying questions of applicants on substantive issues and make decisions based solely on information included in this application.
