Those trying to submit a public records request must use the Public Records Request Form. Before filling out the contact form below or the public records request form,  please review a list of records handled by specific departments or entities and are not covered by these forms:

  • Contact the Chatham County Sheriff's Office to request a copy of an incident report involving the Sheriff's Office or Animal Resources at (919) 542-2811.
  • Contact the Clerk of Superior Court to request copies of any court documents at (919) 545-3500.
  • Contact the Register of Deeds to request birth/death certificates, marriage licenses, plats, land records, deeds, and subdivision covenants at (919) 542-8235.
