K-12 Public Schools

Chatham County Public Schools is the only K-12 public school system in the county. It is directed by the County Board of Education, which is elected based on the the School Board Member Districts.  Chatham County government provides funding to the schools for the:

• construction of new facilities,
• renovation of existing facilities, and 
• general operating support.

Private, Charter and Alternative Schools

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction maintains a list of alternative education choices that include charter, private, and other alternative education options across North Carolina. 

Community College

Central Carolina Community College offers online and in-person major programs and continuing education classes in Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties. The locations in Chatham County are:
