Limited Food Service - "Concession Stands"

Limited Food Service Establishments or commonly called Concession Stands, are typically those sponsored by a Town, School, PTA or Athletic Booster Club. These stands may prepare and/or serve potentially hazardous food like hot dogs and pizza at the amateur athletic events.

Permits for limited food service establishments can only be used for:

  • Political subdivisions of the State (towns, cities)
  • Establishments operated by volunteers that prepare or serve food at amateur athletic events; or,
  • Establishments operated by organizations that are exempt from federal income tax, under section 501(c)(3) or section 501(c)(4) of the Internet Revenue Code

Applications for Limited Food may be submitted online via Open Gov Portal.

Options for application submission:

1)  Submit application 30 days prior to the seasonal operation, or

2) Submit applications for all Limited Food on the property(school premises) at the beginning  of the school year.

*** All Limited Food permits are valid for 1 year of permit issuance date. 

***With application submission, please submit tentative game schedule(s) or provide the inspector the scheduling platform. 

Limited food service establishments are subject to unannounced inspections at least twice per year.

Sanitation scores are posted in a location visible to the public.
