Businesses CANNOT use the Collection Centers for trash and recycling. The Collection Centers are only for residential trash, as they pay the Solid Waste Fee to use the centers.

A business is defined as any income-generating source, such as at-home businesses, farms, contractors, builders, etc. It also does not matter whether the business is currently operating.

Businesses need to take trash to a transfer station or landfill or get a contract with a private hauler to pick up their trash.

Mixed Recycling

Businesses can recycle mixed recycling and glass for free at the Main Facility. Our Main Facility is located at 28 County Services Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312. We are open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

If you have a large load of recycling you may be able to unload it onto our Recycling Station tipping floor. You must call prior to arriving at the Main Facility to see about availability.

Electronics Recycling

Small businesses and non-profits can bring electronics to the Main Facility. There will be a charge for some items. Learn more about the Electronics Recycling program.

Businesses that are not eligible for our program need to contact an electronics recycler directly for recycling options. The NC Division of Environmental Assistance and Customer Service maintains a list of approved electronic recyclers. A comprehensive list of options can be found at www.p2pays.org.
