What is Conservation Planning?
We all know that land provides the foundation for which we can build upon, whether that's to grow food and fiber, to manage and preserve forestland for timber production or wildlife habitat, or construct housing and other infrastructure.
Conservation Planning provides an opportunity to conserve and protect our natural resources on land that is productive while providing goods and services to the surrounding community.
All land uses can impact the water quality in the watershed. Using Conservation Planning, we can examine the land uses and recommend best management practices to reduce those negative water quality impacts.
