Chatham County participates in the NC Wildlife Resources Commission's Beaver Management Assistance Program. Chatham County pays an annual fee so residents are eligible for cost share assistance for beaver management to reduce water levels that may threaten private roadways, agricultural cropland or general property.

Residents interested in this program may reach out to Chatham Soil & Water Conservation District staff. Staff will connect residents with a USDA Wildlife Specialist. They will discuss options and reduced rates then if you chose to participate, they will perform the beaver management activities.
