WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Services Nutrition Program
The WIC program at Piedmont Health Services in Siler City and Moncure provides nutritional services to low-income pregnant and postpartum women, and children under the age of five years old. Bilingual staff are also available.
Services Provided:
- Electronic shopping card for free, healthy food
- Nutrition guidance
- Breastfeeding support (free breast pump)
- Information on other valuable community resources
Eligibility:
- Pregnant or postpartum women or have a child under the age of five
- Living in North Carolina
- Medicaid, SNAP, and Work First recipients automatically qualify. Call the phone numbers below or complete referral form to check eligibility and apply.
- Note: It is not necessary to be a US citizen or documented in order to qualify, and WIC is not a benefit subject to the public charge rule. Receiving WIC will not impact immigration applications.

Hours: Centers are open Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm Meals on Wheels - Open to individuals 60 years of age and older who are homebound (unable to drive, unable to prepare their own meals and have no assistance with meal preparation during the day). Meals are delivered by dedicated volunteers Monday through Friday. Volunteers provide socialization and wellness checks for recipients. Congregate Nutrition Program: Meals are served Monday through Friday at the Pittsboro and Siler City Centers for Active Living. Must be 60 years of age or older and register at least 72 hours in advance. |

Those outside of service area can be assisted on a one-time basis. You need to provide proof of address for all adults and children residing in the household every six months. - Something current with name and street address (school records, medical bills, apartment lease, utility bill, Medicaid card, etc) Limits: Serving order may be determined by a lottery system 30 minutes before distribution. Each household is able to receive food 12 times per calendar year (six visits from Jan-June and six visits from July-Dec). May visit 2x/month but cannot exceed the six total visits per six-month period. |
