Chatham Recovery is an opioid treatment program that provides medication assisted therapy and counseling to help people overcome addiction to heroin and opiates. Services for individuals over the age of 18 include opioid treatment, substance abuse counseling, and psychiatric services.
Medicaid (Cardinal and Sandhills) accepted. Self-pay also accepted. Currently providing Telehealth therapy for clinical and medical appointments. Still open and operating normal business hours (weekday 6-11am, weekends 7-9am) for medication management. |

Chatham 360 is a county office that manages several court programs for youth and adult offenders. Chatham 360 Diversion Program: Works to assist members of our community with accessing various resources and educational materials to avoid further involvement with the criminal justice system. This is a new initiative in Chatham County to educate our youth and young adults being charged for the first-time with non-violent offenses. First-Time Offenders Program: provides first-time drug offenders an opportunity to keep criminal records clean. Defendants must complete treatment based on their charges. Treatment can range from six months for misdemeanor charges to 10-12 months for felony charges. Pretrial Services: Assists the courts in making release-and-detention decisions that preserve public safety as well as a defendant’s statutory and constitutional rights. Key steps include screening defendants, completing a risk assessment to determine the defendant’s risk, and contacting resources the defendant needs. Pretrial supervision services are only available to eligible referred defendants. |

Laws and Protections
Good Samaritan Law: Prevents a person seeking medical assistance for a drug overdose victim from being prosecuted for underage drinking or possession of a small amount of drugs or paraphernalia. The law affords the individual who overdosed the same immunity. (MORE INFO)
Naloxone Access Law: Allows physicians to prescribe Naloxone (opioid overdose reversal drug) to people at risk of an opioid overdose, or to a friend or family members of a person at risk for an overdose. Needle and Syringe Law: Legalizes the establishment of syringe service programs in North Carolina and offered limited immunity to people associated with syringe services programs. The nearest syringe services programs are located at the Orange County Health Department in Hillsborough and Chapel Hill and the NC Harm Reduction Coalition in Durham and Wake Counties.
