Family Planning services are designed to promote sexual and reproductive health in Chatham County and are for any resident of North Carolina. This includes adolescents, women of childbearing age, low-income families, men with the ability to impregnate women, and anyone else who needs help in this area.
These services promote self-determination in matters of reproductive health. They help reduce infant mortality and morbidity by decreasing the number of unplanned pregnancies and the poor health outcomes associated with them. These services also improve an individual’s health by providing access to preventive care.
Charges are based on income and family size. All services provided are strictly confidential regardless of the age of the patient. Parental involvement is encouraged with minors but not a requirement for services. Free condoms are available in our clinic. Lab and pharmacy services are on site. Services are provided by Title X funds.
Our services include:
- Education: General family planning education for clients
- Physical Exams: Pap smear, cervical cancer screening, breast exam
- Tests: Laboratory tests, HIV, STIs/STDs, pregnancy
- Birth Control: Male and female condoms, diaphragms, Depo Provera, emergency contraception, IUD, oral contraception, patches, vaginal ring, subdermal implant, Nexplanon
- Sterilization: Information and referral for men and women
- Adolescents: Family planning counseling, sexual coercion counseling, tobacco prevention counseling, abstinence and contraception counseling
