Equipping Chatham County dads with the tools needed to raise their children for growth and success

Parents are partners in raising their children, even when they do not live in the same household. The role of fathers in families is diverse and related to cultural and community norms. Men should receive the education and support needed to prepare them for the responsibility of parenthood.

Focus on Fathers Goals

  • Assist fathers with working with their kids at home and helping them make positive choices.
  • Build trust among our brothers and support one another.
  • Become a family in our community.

Focus on Fathers Eligibility

  • Children ages 0-5
  • A referral form from the Department of Social Services
  • Services in both English and Spanish

Focus on Fathers Activities

  • Support groups and co-parenting technique group sessions
  • Educational and employment planning
  • Identifying resources and goal-setting
  • For children: Enrichment opportunities and fun and educational outings

Focus on Fathers Communication Rules

  • Initiate discussion and participate
  • Listen and don't interrupt
  • Stay on the subject
  • Respect differences and disagree respectfully
