A Community Meeting is required for each Major Subdivision proposal in Chatham County as part of the Concept Plan Review Process.  The Concept Plan Review Process also requires the Concept Plan to be reviewed by the Subdivision Administrator, the Technical Review Committee, and notification sent to Chatham County Schools.  See the Information Packet below for more information about the Concept Plan Process and the Community Meeting requirements.

The purpose of the Community Meeting is to provide an open dialogue between the applicant(s), neighbors of the proposed subdivision, and other community members.

The Goals of the Community Meeting are:

·  Better communication between property owners and applicant/developer

·  Allow applicant/developer to share goals of the development

·  Allow applicant/developer to gather information from neighbors about any concerns they may have about the land to be subdivided

·  Use the information gathered at the meeting to achieve a balance for the environment, neighborhood, community at large, and the applicant/developer
