The Reference Desk is located at Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro.  Reference staff members provide assistance in person as well as by phone, email, chat, and video conference (by appointment).  To chat with us, click on the orange "Ask a Librarian!" tab in the lower right corner of our website.  For in-depth research assistance, or for help downloading eBooks, please schedule an appointment to ensure that a staff member will be available to assist.

Reference Resources

The reference collections contain multi-volume general encyclopedias as well as subject-specific resources.  Patrons also have access to more than 100 online resources through NC LIVE, including ProQuest Central, Transparent Language, Morningstar Investing Center, and HeritageQuest.  Check our Online Resources page for links and more information.  Patrons can access these databases using a public computer or personal device at the library, or remotely from home.  Log in using your library card number and PIN. One-On-One Assistance (Book a Librarian)

To schedule an appointment with a librarian at Chatham Community Library, Goldston Public Library, or  Wren Memorial Library, click the "Book a Librarian" button below.  We can meet with you for up to 30 minutes per appointment. Types of things we can help with include:

  • Downloading eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines
  • Researching a topic
  • Troubleshooting a computer/tech issue
  • Using a specific library database or online resource
