Chatham 360 Diversion Program

Chatham 360 is a Diversion Program that provides members of our community with counseling and psycho-educational services to reduce further involvement in the justice system. This is a new initiative in Chatham County to support our youth and young adults being charged with various offenses.

We offer content tailored to the needs of our community and population. We believe individuals can choose a path that allows them to maximize their potential if provided the proper tools.

We encourage and love parent participation as parental involvement can be key to a successful diversion.

We are excited to have this program in Chatham County to support youth in developing a better understanding of substance misuse, coping strategies, life skills, and healthy decision-making. We value our youth and the opportunity to reach youth in our community as they approach a critical transitional period toward adulthood.

First-Time Offenders Program

The First-Time Offenders Program, also offered through Chatham 360, provides first-time drug offenders an opportunity at diversion. Defendants must complete treatment based on their charges. Treatment can range from six months for misdemeanor charges to 10-12 months for felony charges. If successfully completed, defendants are eligible to have their cases reduced or dismissed by the District Attorney’s Office.

Chatham 360’s treatment programs provide justice-involved individuals with education, counseling and life skills support to support recovery.

School-Based Prevention Services

School-Based Prevention Services is a program provided through Chatham Diversion & Advocacy Programs aimed at preventing substance use in youth. We work with students in the Chatham County School District in the middle and high school settings. Our goal is to reduce the number of students participating in substance use by using evidence-based program(s) targeted at preventing substance use in youth.

Pretrial Services

Chatham County Pretrial Services assists the courts in making release-and-detention decisions that preserve public safety as well as a defendant’s statutory and constitutional rights. Key steps include screening defendants, completing a risk assessment to determine the defendant’s risk, and contacting resources the defendant needs. Pretrial supervision services are only available to eligible referred defendants.

Pretrial defendants in custody who meet program criteria and agree to terms of supervision may be released to Pretrial Services by judicial order. Supervision requirements, which vary by risk level, may include daily call-ins, office visits, substance abuse screening, and referral to appropriate community resources.
