Child Advocacy
The Child Advocacy Program provides outreach, education, and case management to abused children and their non-offending family members impacted by felony crime. This includes crisis counseling, court support, and referral to needed community resources. The overarching goal is to minimize the negative effects that abuse, and trauma has on each child by providing support and access to services that promote healing and recovery.
The program manager helps coordinate a multi-disciplinary team comprised of various county agencies offering support for individuals and families affected by trauma.
The Child Advocacy program includes an abuse prevention program dedicated to teaching elementary and middle school students about safety and personal boundaries, using Monique Burr Foundation "MBF", "Child Safety Matters" and "Teen Safety Matters" curriculum.
