Property Tax Relief

Chatham County offers property tax relief to residents through the Tax Administration office based on certain circumstances or homeowner characteristics. For more information, visit the property tax relief page.

Home Repair Services

Certain home repair services are available for Chatham County residents at low or no charge. Services are intended to protect and preserve occupant safety and quality of life by improving accessibility, repairing dilapidated housing or disaster damage, or efficiency improvements.

Central Pines Regional Council

Central Pines offers services and accessible financing for home repair and maintenance, and connect homeowners with other agencies for services they do not provide. General home repair support is available here. In addition, Central Pines offers support for homeowners within the Rocky River watershed who are having issues with their septic systems, available here. 

Aging Services

Aging Services, formerly the Chatham County Council on Aging, has a team of volunteers who help older adults age in place. They perform minor improvements, including accessibility aids and repairs. Resources are available at local Senior Centers or by contacting Wynne Fields, Aging in Place Specialist, via email or by calling 919-542-4512 or .

Rebuilding Together of the Triangle

Rebuilding Together works to preserve owner-occupied homes and revitalize neighborhoods by providing home repair and renovation services free of charge to those in need. Rebuilding Together conducts home modification and repair programs that focus on elder home safety, energy efficiency, veterans housing, and disaster recovery and reconstruction.
