Goldston Public Library Announces May Programs and Events

Goldston, NC—The Goldston Public Library is excited to announce new events during the month of May for the Chatham County community to enjoy. The following events are free and open to the public.

Goldston Family Story Time
Every Thursday in May, 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Families are invited to the Goldston Public Library for a weekly story time session every Thursday in May at 10:30 a.m. Families will enjoy hearing stories, singing songs, and much more. Story time is geared toward children who have not yet entered kindergarten, ages 2-5, but anyone is welcome to join in on the fun.

Goldston Public Library’s Learn About Food at Your Library: Local Foods
Wednesday, May 17th, noon – 1:00 p.m.
The Goldston Public Library will host a presentation and demonstration on “Learn About Food at Your Library: Local Foods,” on May 17th at noon. Registered dietitian, Tara Gregory, from N.C. Cooperative Extension – Chatham County Center, will lead the presentation. This event is made possible by the Chatham County Libraries Food Literacy Center Grant.

*The food literacy center grant is made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number LS-252476-OLS-22).
Learn about foods at the library - Local Foods - May 17 - noon 

Goldston Public Library’s So… You want to be an entrepreneur?
Thursday, May 25th, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
WEBB Squared will host a workshop entitled “So… You want to be an entrepreneur?” at the Goldston Public Library on May 25th at 6:00 p.m. This two-hour workshop is geared towards Black & Latino entrepreneurs to learn about the different opportunities and resources to help them develop their business.

WEBB Squared is a 501 (c)(3) whose mission is to recognize and address the racial wealth gap by providing a supportive ecosystem around Black and Brown entrepreneurs living in rural counties in North Carolina.
