Chatham Community Library will host Carolina Tiger Rescue Education Director, Madison Fales, on Saturday, July 27, from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Holmes Family Meeting Room as she presents "Open Your Eyes to the Wild!" This program is free and open to the public and is best suited for adults and older children.
Madison will introduce some of the Rescue's magnificent animals through their pictures and their stories. She will also talk about what makes a sanctuary a sanctuary, and the amazing work Carolina Tiger Rescue does to help wild animals, both in captivity and in the wild. Education is the key to survival and stopping the exploitation of wild cats, so it is important for the public to understand the role of wild cats in their native ecosystems, as well as why they do not belong in the care of private owners, the entertainment industry, or in inhumane facilities.
Carolina Tiger Rescue is a GFAS (Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries) accredited nonprofit wildcat sanctuary right here in Pittsboro! They are home to 12 species of animals including rescued tigers, lions, servals, and kinkajous, and are celebrating 50 years of rescue, education, and advocacy this year!
