Join us at Chatham Community Library to "Learn About Food at Your Library: Raising Good Eaters", presented by Registered Dietitian, Tara Gregory, from N.C. Cooperative Extension-Chatham County Center. The presentation and food demo offers the public an easy way to learn about healthy foods and proper nutrition, especially with young children.
Young children have different nutritional needs from adults and a healthy skepticism to new things, including food. These two factors can make meals challenging for caregivers in addition to limited budgets, limited time, and sometimes limited patience.
"Raising Good Eaters" is aimed at taking the pressure off mealtimes, giving caregivers a better understanding of the nutritional and behavioral needs for this age group, and discussing feeding strategies for young children.
This event is free and open to the public.
*The food literacy center grant is made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number LS-252476-OLS-22).
