The Wastewater Study Commission is no longer active.
On November 15, 2021, the Chatham County Board of Commissioners created the Wastewater Study Commission for Northeast Chatham to study future growth in northeastern Chatham County along the US Highway 15-501 corridor and wastewater treatment systems. This group is no longer active as they presented their final findings to the Board of Commissioners September of 2022.
The Board of Commissioners also appointed 12 residents to serve on the study commission.
The Wastewater Study Commission for Northeast Chatham was facilitated by consultant Freese and Nichols, with Vice President Charles Archer serving as lead facilitator.

The Wastewater Study Commission for NE Chatham will hold a meeting on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 6:00 PM at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center, 1192 US HWY 62 BUS West, Pittsboro.
There will be limited seating for residents who wish to attend the meeting in person.The meeting will not be livestreamed but residents may follow along with the agenda and attend in listen only mode via Zoom.
