Chatham Community Library will host a virtual screening of the documentary Don't Tell Anyone (No Le Digas a Nadie), beginning Thursday, September 16 and continuing through Thursday, September 23, 2021. 

Facing a grim future in a country devastated by civil war, Maria Rivera made the ultimate sacrifice for her and her three-year old daughter Angy and fled to the United States. For the past nineteen years, Angy has lived with a secret that has threatened to upend her life in the only country she has ever called home: she is undocumented.

Don't Tell Anyone follows Angy’s remarkable story as an activist for the rights of undocumented youths, working together with other inspiring individuals as they navigate the perils of a life led in the shadows.

Now 24, unable to pay tuition for college and facing an uncertain future, Angy joins the youth-led New York State Youth Leadership Council (YLC) with whom she dons a bullhorn at pro-immigration rallies, telling all who will listen that she is "undocumented and proud." Rivera becomes an activist for undocumented youth with a popular advice blog "Ask Angy" and a YouTube channel boasting more than 27,000 views. She steps out of the shadows a second time to share her story of sexual abuse, an experience all too common among undocumented women.
