The calendar below provides information on scheduled meetings of the following:

  • Planning Board
  • Appearance Commission
  • Transportation Advisory Committee
  • Affordable Housing Advisory Committee 

It also includes deadlines related to rezonings and subdivisions as well as when the Board of County Commissioners is slated to hold public hearings on planning/zoning issues.

Final Period for Input on Proposed Long Range Transportation Plan

The last opportunities for Chatham County residences to have input in the proposed long-range regional transportation alternatives are quickly approaching. The plan includes options for future transportation projects, including highways, bus transit, light rail, bicycles, pedestrian traffic and other transportation activity that would be implemented through the year 2035.

The plan was developed by the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), which includes a portion of Chatham County.

FINAL OPTIONS FOR PUBLIC INPUT: Public workshops were held around the region over the past two weeks, including Chatham County, but a few options still remain for Chatham residents to voice their opinions:

· Sept. 10, Public Hearing of the MPO's Transportation Advisory Committee, Durham City Hall's Committee Room, 2nd Floor of City Hall, 7 pm

· Sept. 11, Final Public Workshop, Durham County Main Library, 4:30-7:30 pm

· Oct. 1, Final Deadline for Public Comments, send comments to the contact below.

PRESENTATION TO CHATHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: To hear more about the proposed alternatives, the MPO will have a presentation to the Chatham County Board of Commissioners during its work session on Sept. 15 which begins at 2 pm in Pittsboro.
